I’ve never put much stock in bucket lists, but I’ve always believed in great beauty. My trip to India this summer inspired me: I want to see the Wonders of the World. I started my tour with Machu Picchu in Peru. What’s after that? I have no clue. This list is constantly getting longer.
Taj Mahal (India)

Besides the Indians spending more time taking photos of the American tourists than of this amazing monument, the Taj Mahal was what I expected. It was beautiful and there is no question about why it’s on this list. However, beyond staring at the architecture, there isn’t much to do at the Taj beyond getting ripped off and taking lots of photos. We went inside, enjoyed the spectacle and intricate art work, and then moved on to the souvenir stands. I bought my nephews small elephants made of the same marble as the Taj, my nephew Seth now carries the trinket with him everywhere. Then we got back on the bus after an exhausting day in a tragically sad town that has become nothing more than a tourist attraction filled with people hoping to make money off the World Wonder.
